As it makes its way south and west toward the Grand Canyon, the Colorado River flows around the distinctive Horseshoe Bend near Page, Arizona. A short hike from the trailhead brings you to the edge of the canyon and a striking view of Horseshoe Bend and the Colorado River 1,000 feet below. This very poplar area has been photographed countless times, typically with a wide angle view showing the full width of the bend in the river. For a more unique perspective I chose a different viewpoint which captures both the bend in the river and the dramatic cliff jutting over the water.
