Earlier this month I was able to get away for a family vacation in Key Largo, Florida. We had been to Key West several times but this was our first trip to the northern Keys and I was looking forward to capturing a sunset looking across the calm waters on the bay side of the island. While the weather was mostly warm and dry, the skies were just cloudy and overcast enough to obscure the colorful sunsets I had eagerly awaited. On our second to last evening, the afternoon clouds began to part and the sun broke through as it began its descent towards the horizon. Hoping for a colorful show, I found a quiet spot along the shore near our hotel and set up my tripod and camera. The evening did not disappoint as the sun painted the sky with vibrant hues of orange, pink, and purple as it dipped below the tranquil water. Here are a couple of my favorite images from that evening
