Sometimes I feel when it comes to capturing the raw beauty of Utah’s canyons, the simplicity of black and white photography brings out a more powerful story than color ever could. This image is of the “Park Avenue” formations in Arches National Park, UT. taken mid-afternoon on a recent trip to the park. To me, the color version is okay but the image takes on an entirely new, much more dramatic, dimension when stripped of color. It’s as if the landscape is more timeless, more honest, —allowing you to truly connect with the soul of the scene. Which version speaks to you more, black and white or color? I’d love to hear from you in the comments.
