Two Photographs Find a Home at the New AdventHealth Aurora Highlands ER

I’m happy to announce that two of my photographs — “Foothills Sunset“ and “Wildflower Cascade“ — have been placed at the new AdventHealth Aurora Highlands ER in Aurora, Colorado.

Work that ends up in a healthcare setting means something particular to me. In 2016 I became a contributing photographer for the Foundation for Photo/Art in Hospitals, and I wrote then that I hoped my photograph might relieve someone’s stress and play a small part in the healing process. That belief hasn’t changed. Nobody plans a trip to an emergency room. If an image on the wall pulls someone’s attention outward for a few seconds — toward a ridgeline holding the last of the evening light, or water moving through a meadow of wildflowers — it has done real work.

Both images are Colorado, which felt right for a building serving Colorado families. “Foothills Sunset” is the quieter of the two: warm light, layered ridges, nothing shouting for attention. “Wildflower Cascade” comes from the high country in summer, during that short window when the meadows go briefly and spectacularly wild.
