Each Photograph is a Self-Portrait – My adaptation of the Oscar Wilde quote – “Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not the sitter”.
I believe that whenever you great something genuine – whether it’s photography, art, music, writing, or any kind of online content – you’re sharing a part of yourself. It’s not just about depicting a subject; it’s about expressing your inner world through your work. Your decisions, viewpoints, and emotional fingerprints naturally infuse what you create. That’s why truly meaningful work can’t be automated or handed off to AI – it reflects your unique perspective, shaped by your experiences, emotions, and worldview. The most powerful creators don’t simply record what they see; they interpret it through the lens of who they are, turning it into something deeply personal and resonant.
I’m excited to share a few new photographs that are a reflection of this idea. These images were captured in later winter in the heart of the Colorado Rockies during moments of solitude and stillness in the alpine cold – when the world slows down, the light softens, and the mountains inspire a sense of awe. Each was shaped by my own connection to the mountains, to winter, and to the sense of wonder that these beautiful landscapes continue to instill in me.

I was able to experience this beautiful pink sunset over the rugged peaks of the Gore Range from the frozen shore of Black Lake at the summit of Vail Pass, Colorado.
I composed this seven image panorama of the peaks of the Ten Mile and Mosquito Ranges from the 12,000′ summit of Copper Mountain Ski Resort. The black and white composition really speaks to me with a powerful and timeless feel that I find truly inspiring.
I really enjoyed the vintage feel of this image from the back side of Copper Mountain with the aging Blackjack chair in the foreground and the prominent snow-capped peaks of the Ten Mile and Mosquito Ranges in the distance.
If you’re looking to update your interior spaces with the calm and majesty of a Rocky Mountain winter scene I encourage you to browse my galleries for striking images captured from across the wild and beautiful landscapes of Colorado and the Western United States.
