I am pleased to announce that out of over 10,000 submission, my “Tropical Flower” flower photograph was selected as a finalist in the Photographer’s Forum 34th Annual Spring Photography Contest. The flower photograph will be published in their Best Photography of 2014 coffee table book.
This gorgeous tropical flower photograph was captured while visiting Akaka Falls near Hilo, Hawaii in 2010. After getting some great waterfall photos, I happened to look down and spot this lovely little flower on the hike back. With all the other scenery around the Big Island to take in, I didn’t give it much thought at the time, however it’s turned out to be one of my favorite photos from my trip to Hawaii.
